The Business of FIRST – Curriculum and Resources?
One thing that I that would like to help do is put together an online course that covers the business side of starting, running and sustaining a successful FIRST team. What resources are already out there that cover the business side of FIRST? Topics that could be included in the curriculum include marketing (branding, public relations), operations (project management) and management (organizational structure, business planning). What other topics should be added to the curriculum?
A long term goal could be to have a curriculum which would be taught as a matriculated high school business class that uses the school's FRC team as a hands-on learning experience. Thoughts/suggestions? |

Re: The Business of FIRST – Curriculum and Resources?
There are a surprising number of documents already created in help people start teams and learn about things like fund raising and finding sponsors. Unfortunately for you, none of them are in any sort of format that developing a course would require. You can find a some here and others here.
If you find that the official documents provided by FIRST aren't enough you should check out the stuff here on CD in the White Papers section or on the NEMO website. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more help. |
