Missing sample code
Hello, all. I'm having trouble with java and netbeans. First, the sample code doesn't show up under the project samples folder. I have installed and reinstalled the .nbm files (trying both the .xml "autoupdating" way and the manual download and install). The three sources under the folder "FRC Java" have three sources in them, but the "FRC Java" under the samples folder has only the TrackerDemoProject.
I got this to work on a mac, but can't seem to get it to work on the class mate. (The mac was just for experimenting with getting the FRC API...which apparently didn't help .Also, when trying to deploy code, we are getting a message saying that it is connecting to 10.28.79.2 (the cRIO) on port 8001. However, it simply says waiting for command OTA. I know this has been discussed elsewhere, but the date on that thread was before the kickoff and I don't think the solution applies anymore. The solution they suggested was to get newer version of the code, but the URL of the updates.xml file is correct in the "Getting started with Java" guide, as far as I know. What gives? Thanks for the help! |

Re: Missing sample code
What are you referring to as the "three sources"? My team has all of the files up and running on the classmate and several other PCs. There should be five update files for Netbeans, which it seems like you have installed on your Mac.
As for your other problem, there might be a few causes. Have you set your team number under the FRC Configuration tab in Options? This could cause a problem when connecting to the cRIO. Also, are you using a wireless connection? At times my team has had problems with a wireless connection for some reason or other and have resorted to connecting the cRIO to the router via Ethernet cable. Sometimes turning the power off and then back on on the robot fixes any communication error. |

Re: Missing sample code
The "IterativeRobot" "Simple Robot" and one other (I don't have the Classmate with me right now) are in the FRC Java folder. We have set the team number via the FRC configuration option and we are hard linked with ethernet.

Re: Missing sample code
When you are opening the project, don't click on "open project", click on "new project". Then you will see a different list that contains the projects you are looking for (if you are seeing the same problem we were when we ran into a similar issue.)
