Plant material?
Anyone have any good plant materials they'd be willing to share? Our team's struggling to make our plants look good.
Thanks! |

Re: Plant material?
What kind of plants? You need to get some reference photos of the plants you are trying to make. Or do you mean materials such as textures and such. I would research into translucent shaders.
here is a good tutorial: http://www.3d-resources.com/3d_studi..._tutorial.html |

Re: Plant material?
Yes, to clarify I mean textures. We use mental ray, if that helps anyone.

Re: Plant material?
I just googled "Plant textures" and I'm finding all sorts of things that you would be able to use. You would have to edit the photos in Photoshop to get a decent plant texture. Make sure to also save out a mask, bump map, and specular map to really seal the deal.

Re: Plant material?
Xfrog has made a large number of plants available for free on the autodesk seek website. They are way too high poly to use in some scenes, but the textures are very nice and the plants look great. cgtextures also has lots of good plant textures as well
