Battery Mounting
Is it legal to strap the battery down into the holder with snap "helmet" style staps?

Re: Battery Mounting
Anything is legal to hold the battery in place. Long as it will pass safety and not break any other rules.

Re: Battery Mounting
I would also suggest putting a big zip-tie around the connector, as cheap insurance that your connector does not come apart during a match.

Re: Battery Mounting
We mounted our battery in an aluminum case UNDER the deck and the rest of the electricals, partly for cg reasons and for space reasons, and insulated the case with plastic and rubber. I couldnt find anything that said this was against the rules, so Im hoping we dont have to move it later.

Re: Battery Mounting
Personally I like 254's way of mounting batteries. That is what we are doing for the 2010 season with a buckle for extra safety. Thanks Nick for the info on making the boxes.
