Question Digital Sidecar Fails When Limit Switch is Pressed

We hooked up a limit switch to the sidecar's I/O port 1 and when we pressed it, everything seemed to fail. All of the lights turned off on the sidecar except 'BAT' and '6V'. The camera twitches continuously downward and to it's left, the orange blinking status light turns off, all of the PWMs attatched to the sidecar lose power... basically all of the 5V components die. In very rare cases, the motors do a full reverse for a fraction of a second.

Empty code has been written to initialize the relay and to tell it to do nothing in all cases. These behaviors are consistent on both of our sidecars on two separate robots with entirely separate electronics. Has anyone else had this problem before; and is there a reason or a way to fix it?

Thanks for the help!
