Magnetic Reed Switch

Hey, I wanted to know how to include a magnetic reed switch for one of our pistons in our program, if programming it is actually needed. I saw on one of the threads that the reed switch is plugged in to a digital IO slot on the digital sidecar, but is that all that needs to be done or do you have to program it? If so would someone be able to post on how to do it. Thanks

Re: Magnetic Reed Switch

You do have to program it.

You use the Digital Input palette found under WPI Robotics Library -> IO -> DigitalInput

Add a DIO Open to Begin.vi
Add a DIO Close to Finish.vi
Add a DIO Get to Teleop.vi and do whatever you want with the information.
