Go to Post The point of outreach isn't to "win" a "game" so I'm not sure what you hope to achieve with such a concept. The idea of "beating" another team in terms of outreach is fundamentally flawed. - dcarr [more]

Additional Joysticks

Hey with the increased complication of our robots axillary function we are finding it necessary to increase the control system. We are a rookie team and we don't have an additional KOP joystick. We do have several other USB control devices but i cannot seem to make the OpenJoystick.vi work with them. What i would most prefer is if i could use a keyboard to control the aux functions. Can i capture key hits on the classmate controller or attach a additional keyboard and use that? Are there any vi's to do this? Or does anyone else known of a better system?

It's possible, but I'm not sure exactly how to do it. You will probably have to use an external USB controller.

Not by default. You may be able to find one on OpenG.

Re: Additional Joysticks

Lots of HID joystick type devices will work. You can use the buttons around the joystick(s). If a device shows up in the gamepad section of the control panel, I believe it will work pretty well with the DS.

Re: Additional Joysticks

I used a couple of USB game controllers and tried everything i could think of with them. They both showed up in the Joystick window of the setup tab and their name would change color when the buttons were pressed but no response was received in the code.

Re: Additional Joysticks

How are you checking the buttons in the code? Right click and show the entire cluster.
