Re: *CLICK,CLICK*
Huh? Could you explain this again? But it sounds like the jags might not be getting a signal...

Re: *CLICK,CLICK*
The Jags thats are lifting our beam of the robot to help lift it up to the others isn't lifting at all they (the 2 jags) on both sides are clicking they are trying to lift the "latter" we have that is connected to our wrinch and all it is doing is clicking.

What color lights are lighting up on the jaguar? Are you giving them a signal through PWM or CAN? What kind of motor is the jaguar controlling? Is it actually the jaguar clicking or is it your winch/motor that can't handle the load? |

Re: *CLICK,CLICK*
The clicking may be the auto-resetting circuit breakers. You may be loading the motors too much and they're stalling and tripping the breakers.

Re: *CLICK,CLICK*
I think that might be right, but there is no point into over loading the motor there is two motors on the shaft.

That is probably your problem. Spikes are not meant to control Jaguars. |

Re: *CLICK,CLICK*
Ok, I have a feeling there is something very wrong going on here. Lets start with some definitions;
JAGUAR: Motor controller, controls speed and direction of motor SPIKE: relay or switch controlled by program, all or nothing (on or off) There should only be one spike powering each motor regardless of what kind of motor it is. And spikes should never be hooked up to speed controllers (jaguar or victor). If your saying you have two motors hooked up to the winch, make sure their both turning in the correct directions. If you are driving them against each other, they will stall out and trip the breakers. And third, it is very possible that the motors can't overcome the forces required to lift the robot causing the motors to stall and trip the breakers. |

Re: *CLICK,CLICK*
Yes i kno but the way the mentors were explaining it sounded like they were saying jags are hooked up to the spikes im at home sick so i dont know whats going on. now they are saying something different then what they told me earlier sorry for a mass confusion

there is green lights on it running and non. we are using fisher price motors to power them and i really dont know if we are giving them a signal through anything but a drive system and our wind river |

Clicking Problem With Spikes
Ok so i messed up on the first message i put up on here today cause of a mis comunication.
Anyways we have 3 Spike motors hooked up to a densel motor and the densel motor is hooked up to the fisher price motor. The SPIKE motors are making a CLICKING sound when we comand them to opperate on both sides they click and we dont know why this is happening. todays our last day to work. thanks team 21 |

Re: Clicking Problem With Spikes
I am not quite sure what motor you are trying to control with a spike/jaguar, but make sure the positive wire is going to 12v/v+ and the ground is going to gnd/v-. It sounds like you may have them switched around. It could also be that the motors are turning against each other and tripping the breakers.
