classmate charger power requirement

I am at work thinking about this so I don't have the charger here. Can anybody tell me what the input power requirement is for the classmate pc's charger? What is the output voltage?
Thanks

Re: classmate charger power requirement

This is from memory, so someone with the charger handy would be a better source. From what I remember:

Input
  • 100v-240v AC
  • 1.2A
Output:
  • 2 Amps (50 watts is enough)
  • 20v output
P.S. I checked when I got home and I'd remembered correctly.

Re: classmate charger power requirement

Does anyone know if it's center pin positive or negative? This is actually quite urgent, so if anyone can find out that'd be great.

Thanks

Center pin positive

P.S.
Here's a better picture and more to the point, a crop of just the power info.

Mark,

What in that image indicates it's center pin positive? Or have you taken to the practice of including red herrings in your post as well

Re: classmate charger power requirement

There's so many symbols on that label I really had to look to find it.
It's to the right of the DC output spec, right below the text "50-60Hz".

(Unfortunately the scanner has a very short focal length, and so the distance offset by the rim of the charger was enough to make the label hard to read.)

Re: classmate charger power requirement

Just to round things out.

Here is the power required by the 2011 Classmate.
Slight differences from the 2010 model.

Still just as busy as the other one.

Re: classmate charger power requirement

I need help. Our team lost the Classmate charger again second year in a row. We have the original classmate 2010. Does anybody know which AC/DC adapter I should purchase as a replacement from www.ctlcorp.com?

They have

http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-pho...id=vPbPJ5OAGA7

Price is $5 after an instant $20 discount and shipping is free.

I bought two of them as spares. They've helped teams at both regionals I attended.

Thanks to user silverD for the pointer.

Re: classmate charger power requirement

Thanks Alan. I have one last question.

According to the image Mark McLeod posted, the 2010 classmate charger output is 20V 2A. The 2011 classmate charger is 19V 2.1A. This Kensington Netbook Wall Charger is 19V 2.5A according to SilverD.

I am not an electrical person. We have the 2010 classmate. Is it okay to use this Kensington charger?

The Classmate Power adapters FIRST is providing at the Driver's Stations (or was intending to provide, they were not there at Peachtree, we were provided with outlets instead) are specified in the manual as the 19V version and compatible with both 2010 and 2011 KOP Classmates.

Re: classmate charger power requirement

We've used both versions of the Classmate charger on our 2010 Classmate without any problem.

Re: classmate charger power requirement

Rather than starting a new thread I thought it might be best to revive an old one. We seem to have lost our classmate power brick between last season and this season. We have one of the E09 classmates. Based off the pictures above the model number is an ADP-40MH AD. a quick google search finds this adapter. http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Ad.../dp/B005NU6A9M

For those of you with working classmates do you think this is the right adapter and tip? supply voltages look correct but i wasn't sure about the tip size or polarity.

Thanks.
