"Team 1619 is looking for a left-handed metric adjustable box wrench" - One team came over to our pit and asked if his adjustable was metric or US standard, another offered us some headlight fluid, and finally another team brought over a mystery tool that none of us figured out what it did.

Did you get re-inspected for making a modification to your robot?

After we brought them an empty water bottle (freshly filled with pneumatic fluid), they summarily attached it, re-inspected, and played through the playoffs with it as a part of their robot. It made my day when I looked onto the field and saw it actually on their robot!

MN Northstar Pit admin is pretty no-nonsense and sharp, but we have got away with requesting an "FTL Drive" for two years in a row.

At Lonestar this year, we enjoyed a good joke - we asked for WildTime Orbit Balls

In addition, the team immediately after us stated that they needed more pylons

We actually got one of our team members to look on page 52 1/2 of the McMaster catalog for aluminium magnets one year. He came back 45 min later and said "I couldn't find any"

Re: Funny things to ask for on the PA system

I happened to like all the funny pit announcements simply because they're all funny and of course they're always announced at the right time. =). I always here the common Flux Capicator but I wouldn't mind hearing some new ones =). NYC and NJ I think was full of the funny annoucnements although I'm not too sure about SBPLI.
