Go to Post But should we "discriminate" based on how long your team has been around? If you think about it, FIRST's goal is to inspire students, right? ...But students on rookie and second-year teams, if anything, are in greater need of being inspired. - LauraN [more]

Those are interesting treads.

Where did you get them, and how did they work in comp?

Re: pic: Team 1091 Robot at Wisconsin Regional

The snowmobiles treads were donated to the team by a from a friend of the team, but were had to buy the driveshaft and the treads are off an old snowmobile. In the practice meet that we had we had a little trouble with them because the driver was not use to driving in tank mode. We ended up taking one of the tracks off complete and ended up bending our driveshaft. But we fix that problem with the driveshaft. At the competition we did ok, but then we ended breaking two of our wheel the one with orange and white putting bolts in to it hold them together. We ended breaking our Idler Wheel that is in the middle. I was little worry at first that the treads were going to break, but after our third match I was worry at all. The treads did ok but for going over the and pushing other robots they work good.
