Touchscreen Classmate
This is not to say that FIRST will be getting these for next year.
I want you to think for a moment, what could you do with a touchsceen Classmate PC as your controll computer? |

Re: Touchscreen Classmate
Some of the beta teams got touchscreens, if I recall correctly.
We have several touch-screen tablets that we've played with as well. Indeed, I have to deal with several hundred touch-screens on an every day basis (and these are so-called hardened industrial versions). In nearly every case, they are imprecise, finicky (don't you dare get grease on 'em), and problem-prone. Even the consumer grade versions we played with leave a ton to be desired. You're better off (in my opinion) hooking up a mouse and using that. Oh, and keeping people from using ballpoint pens, and even some more aggressive tools (screwdriver), as a stylus is near impossible..... Yuck I say. But I might be a bit biased. |
