For switches: - Ground wire connects to either of the pins labeled "Gnd"
- Signal wire connects to any of the pins labeled "Digital input"
For potentiometers: - Ground wire connects to either of the pins labeled "Gnd"
- Signal wire connects to any pin labeled "Analog input"
- Power wire connects to either of the pins labeled "VDDIO"
When you have the I/O board mounted on the breadboard, one column of pins should be directly accessable via the breadboard, but the other column will need extension wires under the I/O board that bring out the pins that you need to get at to an outside breadboard row you can connect to.
