Re: [OCCRA]: control
Dude,
Welcome to OCCRA and the exciting 2010 season. Glad you joined our league.
Mike Martus provides "official" game answers, but I think I can answer your question for you.
If I understand your question correctly, you are asking about a clear plastic container that holds most of the electronics for the large robot. There is nothing special about the plastic other than it is non-magnetic and allows easy visual access to the lights on your control pieces for field diagnostics as mentioned by Mike McIntyre during the OCCRA Kickoff meeting.
If you were an existing team you would already have this plastic box at your school. In this case, you will swap out the old IFI components - you will not be using them this year. In it's place you will be using the new Innovation First CORTEX control system components.
If you do not have the plastic box because you are a new team you can contact OCCRA to obtain one (if they have one), or go purchase one yourself (<$10) that is the approximate size of existing units (I don't have one close by to measure for you). You might want to contact Mike McIntyre at Oakland Technical Schools Campus - NE because he may have additional electronic components that may have not been included in your Kit of Parts.
Wishing you best success in this year's season,
GO OCCRA Teams!!!
