Installing Windriver C++

Our team used Java last year, but now we're switching to C++, but I'm having trouble installing Windriver Workbench.

I have the two-disc set that we got last year, so I popped in disc 1 and started installing. I unchecked the LabView and Java options and went on my merry way. Everything installed fine and it told me to switch in disc 2.

I did, and it began to install Workbench. A dialog from Workbench popped up, asking me for a license file. I searched the cd and found some preinst.lic that I fed it. It seemed to work fine, the install continued normally.

However, I could find no way to run the program, as the only exe's in C:\windriver were from the jre and vxworks tools.

Did I do something wrong, or is the executable hidden away somewhere?

Re: Installing Windriver C++

The license file is on the DVD. Here is an excerpt from my installation notes.

•During WindRiver installation, it will ask you for a licensing key. Choose "permanent activation" and point it to the licensing file located on the DVD at the following location:
<drive>:\Distributions\Wind River\FirstRobotics_2010_install.txt

Thanks, this worked. I'm not sure why I didn't get the message before.

Is this somewhere on FIRST's website? I must have missed it.

It's in the Control System Setup Manual, specifically page 8. Don't worry, I have trouble keeping track of all the manuals too

Re: Installing Windriver C++

Yes, I have trouble remember where I read those too. That's why once I read it, I summarized the steps in my installation notes and post it on our team website so our programmers can just read that instead of scrambling with different docs. That excerpt was from my notes.
