Classmate help fom 2010 to 2011 image

I orginally put in the 2011 image usb, pressed F11 and tried to install image, but it froze and came with error.

I shut the classmate down and tried to reinstall the 2010 image, but that is not installing.

I cannot install the 2010 image or the 2011 image, for the 2010 image I get the error message:

x:\windows\system32>wpeinit
x:\windows/system 32> d:
d:\ restoreds is not recgonized as an internal or external commond, or program or batch file.
d:/>

for 2011 image the message that is on the screen is:
bootmgr is missing

Thanking you all.

Try booting from the usb. While you get the booting screen instead of f11 press f2.

Re: Classmate help fom 2010 to 2011 image

What we found worked for us to get rid of the bootmgr is missing error was to type "EXIT" when the install was finished and the classmate was sitting at a DOS prompt. The Classmate then re-booted on it's own and everything worked. Try this on the 2011 image. Since you need the 2011 image for competition, we did not even try to go back to the 2010 image.

Good luck

Thank you. I keep the getting the error message "BOOTMGR is missing" even if I did press F11 and do a reboot, I get the same message. I have one of our co workers look it over he suspects the hard drive on the classmate is not good.

Thank you.

you may have reformated your harddrive and wiped everything. thats what happened to me when i ran the 2012 image flashdrive. it reformated, and partitioned the harddrive like it was supossed to, but it did not restore the classmate DS with a new installation of windows like it said it was supossed to.
