Gyro, legal or not?

Simple question, can we use gyroscopes in this years game or are they not allowed?

Gyros would be considered custom circuits (assuming you are talking about the electrical sensor) and all rules concerning custom circuits would apply.

So yes, most gyros would be legal as long as they are wired appropriately.

Re: Gyro, legal or not?

If you mean the flywheel kind, Rule R01, under my interpretation, would disallow them.

Re: Gyro, legal or not?

Yes ......

<R30> Parts custom-made for FIRST and provided to FRC teams in the KOP for previous FRC competitions (e.g. 2006 FRC transmissions, custom-made motor couplers, custom sensor strips, FRC CMUcam II modules, etc.) may be used if the part is still functionally equivalent to the original condition.

Re: Gyro, legal or not?

It's a question one of my team mates had. We got the first few replies and our Mechanics mentor mentioned they were in the kit...
Thanks though!
