LabView Problem

When we open up LabView I don't see anything that looks like a robot project. Is there something else I have to download? Or is there an extra step to get a new robot project?

Yes.

You need to follow the directions in the Getting Started document. It will tell you exactly what to download and install. You should also be aware of the Software Updates page, which is linked to from the FRC Competition Manual and Related Documents page.

Re: LabView Problem

The LabVIEW Update adds all that stuff.
The DVD just installs basic LabVIEW.

After the Update is installed the LabVIEW startup screen will look like this and you'll see the marked default robot project.

Re: LabView Problem

If you've installed Labview as advised by FIRST, you should see a "Robot Project" file type under New. The project contains a generic program and can be modified as needed.

Re: LabView Problem

Stupid Q:
Is the Labview Tools for FRC already installed on DS? If so, then updates are installed in this order, no?

Labview
Utilities
DriverStation

If not installed, does it take longer than 4 hours?

Re: LabView Problem

If you just want to run the Driver Station/Dashboard applications on the Classmate and not use it for LabVIEW program development, then what you listed should be all you need. That's the correct order, too.
The Vision tools needed by the Dashboard are included as part of the KOP image stick installation.

If you want to use the Classmate for programming then you have to install the LabVIEW DVD (via a thumb drive copy or an external USB-DVD drive).
