Unhappy Team 639 needs your help!!!

Our team became aware just yesterday (as many other teams have already mentioned similar problems) that we can not attend any events in New York City or a foreign country.

I quote part of an email from one of our high school teachers:
"...just told me that there is a new policy from the Ithaca School Board (and possibly also, the Board of Education for the State of New York) that says, student trips will not be authorized either to New York City or any foreign country! It seems that Canada is out for us this year."

Unfortunately, we had registered for Canada weeks before this policy was put in place, and now all the regionals are packed full. We also are registered for Great Lakes. After being locked out of nationals, it would be horrible to be stuck with only one regional as well. My question to you teams out there: Are there any teams who would consider switching a regional with us? In other words, would you attend the Canadian regional and in turn let us attend the regional you previously had planned? I do not know if FIRST would allow this (I will find out tomorrow), but I would hope so given this turn of events. Please drop me an email at prd8@cornell.edu if you think you can help us.

Thanks,
Patrick Dingle

Wanna go to Rutgers?

Hey, there's a team in Jersey (551 or 560, can't remember) whose school board won't let them make the trip to the Ruters regional. Gimme a few days to chat with the guys about it, but you might be able to borrow their slot.

Unfortunately, J&J, NYC, and Philly are all the same weekend as Great Lakes... thus realistically we could only switch into Long Island, New England, Cleveland, or the West Michigan. I should have mentioned that before. Thanks anyway for your help

I would suggest that you register for the West Michigan Regional. I see that there are only two on the waiting list. If our funding does not come in the next three weeks we will be dropping out of the West Michigan Regional. Maybe a few others are like our team, short on funding.
