Laptop with Joysticks problem

I am trying to control my team's robot with my laptop through a tether, so that i can make quick changes in the program (I am using Labview). I can download and run the program trough the tether, but I cannot get the Joysticks to input values into my program, while I'm using my laptop. Is there anything special you need to do to make the joysticks work while using the run function through a regular laptop?

Re: Laptop with Joysticks problem

Nothing special is required.
You are running the Driver Station on your laptop I assume.

Your joystick might have been automatically assigned the wrong USB.
Check on the Driver Station Setup tab to see where they all are.
You can press a button on the joystick and the joystick listing will change color.

You can also check that the laptop recognizes the joystick using the Game Controllers utility from your Control Panel.
