different minibot shaft???
We need a new shaft for out minibot because the one we were given does not work with our design. We made a new shaft, but couldn't find any regulations for the shafts. Is it "legal" to use a different one???
Thanks!! |

You can make a new shaft using materials on the approved materials, or parts from the approved list of Tetrix components. This is my opinion only. You can ask the GDC on the FIRST Q&A for an official answer. Maybe steel welding rod will work, or aluminum round.

Re: different minibot shaft???
Steel isn't on the allowed materials list in any form (other than what's in the Tetrix kit).
Aluminum stock, on the other hand, is. |

Actually you can use steel from fasteners like shoulder bolts, etc. The. Minibots small about creative use of the allowed materials. |
