Re: 3553's Dragonfly Signs of Life
My team can pretend our arm is a cannon. Satisfied here for "coolness" of the robot.

Re: 3553's Dragonfly Signs of Life
You will probably want to switch out the outer extension tires to either plaction wheels or pneumatic tires. With only slick wheels on the extensions your robot will act like a giant lever when another robot pushes on it. It will actually make it easier to push/turn you rather than harder.
I don't know exactly how your design works but when your extensions come out are they picking the inner "driving" wheels off the ground? It appears that they are not in which case the above will pretty much be the case no matter what wheels you use. Really cool design, it has great potential to be "that" robot this year once you work out the tricky spots. Good Luck! |

Re: 3553's Dragonfly Signs of Life
There are no slick wheels anywhere on the robot. The extension wheels are 8" plactions with wedgetop tread.
We are not lifted up when the wings come down. |

Re: 3553's Dragonfly Signs of Life
That's good. In your video the visable extension looked like it had slick KoP wheel on it. Upon closer inspection after the extensions moved up, however, I see it now. White treads are pretty sweet.
If I may ask one more question. When your extensions are down, where are your outer wheels in relation to the inner? ie. Slightly raised, in line, etc? Thanks and best of luck, Bryan |

Dramatically slow wing raising.
So cool. |

Congratulations Akosh and team 3553. It's going to be fun keeping an eye on your robot this year ;>
