Robot Lockup Form

This may just be a silly question but... what are we exactly supposed to do with the robot lockup form? Do we just hold onto it until competition or are we supposed to send or fax it somewhere?

And is "bagging" the robot and filling out one line of this form all we have to do?

Check out this PDF:

Attending a Bag and Tag Event

Quote:
You may NOT open your BAG until it has been checked and signed off. Upon check-in at Pit Admin, ask for the person in charge of checking Robot Lock Up Forms. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR ROBOT LOCK-UP FORM READY FOR REVIEW AT THE EVENT. DO NOT FORGET TO BRING IT.

5. After your Robot Lock-Up Form has been properly filled out to reflect the open time and date, your team may open the BAG and prepare to compete.

6. After the event, if you are waitlisted or will be attending another event, re-seal your robot in the BAG with a new TAG and fill out the Robot Lock-Up Form.

Re: Robot Lockup Form

Keep the form, and treat it like it was made of gold. When you get to your regional, the inspectors need to see and sign off on your form before you are allowed to cut the tag and get at your robot.

If you don't have the form, you will have to go through the non-compliance process before you get to unbag your robot, which will make your Thursday fairly unpleasant. (There's a form that has to be signed off on by most of the key volunteers and then get called into headquarters.)

Re: Robot Lockup Form

This is our first Bag and Tag also. The directions seem very straight forward and simple. But, it does seem like it is too simple and I can't help but feel like I am missing something I need to do.

Tonight
Bag it, Tag it, fill out the form

Re: Robot Lockup Form

It is that simple, just fill out the form (hold onto it), bag the robot and put security tie on it and wait till it is time to travel, would probably put the robot somewhere that it will not get torn or in the way as it is sometimes hard to handle inside the bag

Re: Robot Lockup Form

Getting the robot into the bag and sealed up like a fruit basket is a little tricky, but if you've been attentive to your filing on sharp edges, not too bad. It may be a little trickier this year as the robots are taller. One lesson we learned the hard way is that if you bag it with the bumpers on, you may have some difficulty fitting through doors.

Re: Robot Lockup Form

Can the person who signs the form be an adult member of the team or does it need to be an administrator. I can't see anywhere that it specified who needs to sign it, other than the person being a non-student.

Re: Robot Lockup Form

The rules and/or form indicate not a student team member, over 18, with knowledge of whether the lockup rules are being followed, and with a working phone that will be answered if the inspectors have a question on the first day of the regional. As long as all of those criteria are met, you should be fine. If I recall correctly, I signed for my team last year.
