Quantitative: It breaks down the data scouted into matches. For each match, it averages the data to get a score for that match. This score gets averaged with the scores for all the other matches to get an overall score. Quote:

It would help to make the videos more universally available. Also on another note, the FMS posts to the FRCFMS twitter feed. This may be easier to parse than the first website. Also the data is more current.... a friendly tip from a competitor ![]() |

Re: pic: 254 Presents: Cheesy Scout
Anyone know if Sovereign Bank Arena has added wifi? Last time I was attended the NJ regional, there weren't any internet options. I wanted to give this a brief test on Saturday, but don't have a smartphone to tether my laptop.

Re: pic: 254 Presents: Cheesy Scout
If a team hasn't competed yet, data on them doesn't exist, so of course it isn't available through this system. Looking at some of the week 1 data, there isn't much available for team that have competed so far either. Maybe we'll see more teams using the system and making their data public in week 2.

Re: pic: 254 Presents: Cheesy Scout
CheesyScout is updated for Week 2 Regionals: San Diego, Florida, WPI, Lake Superior, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, New York City & Waterford District.
Team 254 will be running full scouting for San Diego. |

Re: pic: 254 Presents: Cheesy Scout
Hm..I noticed that the Week 1 events, and Week 1 teams are not shown anymore. Does this also mean that all data for week 1 is gone?

Re: pic: 254 Presents: Cheesy Scout
Is anyone using this system this weekend? I'm seeing match results posted, which might be derived from FIRST site's data, but no scouting has been shared, I think. However, I'm still not sure I'm logged in properly, so, massive shrug from me. I was going to try entering scouting data based on live feed observations simply to see how it went.

Will Cheesy Scout be receiving a re-hash for the 2013 season?

There are some very similar programs which came out more recently than Cheesy Scout including 1538's Cow Scout which might be worth looking into. If anything changes, we'll be sure to let you know. |

Re: pic: 254 Presents: Cheesy Scout
To provide more context, we've moved on to using a lower-tech scouting solution internally, which is why we haven't been updating Cheesy Scout.

I am curious, what 'lower-tech solution' have you guys settled on?

Paper forms input by one person. Pat can elaborate more as it's his project, but this year he's created scantrons for the kids to fill out.
