Re: Minibot falls slowly?
Maybe you could put some sort of ratcheting mechanism in there. http://www.vexrobotics.com/276-1546.html might be a good option.

Our team's minibot does a very similar thing on purpose at about 1:48 in the video above. |

Re: Minibot falls slowly?
Ours is built differently, but could you explain how you got the motors to slowly roll? Ours prefers to zoom down.

Re: Minibot falls slowly?
Ours also always comes down. Shorted the motors in series off the "normally open" on the limit switch.
http://www.frc272.com/2011Season/Min..._timed_run.wmv I like this one the best. Hicups a little in the beginning before grabing. If 4.48 is a slow run for us I will take it. David what is your gear ratio????? Last edited by liam.larkin : 02-03-2011 at 19:02. Reason: forgot some stuff |

? To be honest, I actually don't know all of that. I just built it . It uses the largest tetrix gears in the FTC mini kit, and they go to the smallest gears mounted on the wheels. Thanx, David |

Re: Minibot falls slowly?
Okay based on that.....I am assuming you are using either a limit switch or household light swtich to start/stop your minibot when it hits the top. Take whatever side you have left either normally open/normally closed output (depends on your design) and short that across your motors in series and you will get something similar to our result
