NXT Sensor
My team recently went to a scrimmage, and a judge told us we were not allowed to use the NXT touch sensor on our minibot. However, according to rule 92 BB in rules update 5, all NXT sensors (plugged into the NXT brick) are usable. Are we permitted to use the sensor? Thanks!

Re: NXT Sensor
It is allowed.
Did he cite a reason why? Maybe it was outside the 12x12x12 box? |

Re: NXT Sensor
1) Judges have no authority on whether components are legal.
2) Inspectors (one of those is who you were referring to, I think) can say stuff is illegal on the robot. HOWEVER, if the RULES clearly say that you can use a part and the inspector says you can't, the rules win. If this happens at your regional, call for the Lead Robot Inspector and show them the rule. As far as I'm concerned, it's a legal part. P.S. Scrimmage inspectors do get stuff wrong. Ask me about that sometime. |
