autonomus score question

Do we get autonomus score if at the end of the 15 sec the robot is still in contact with the uber tube

Re: autonomus score question

I saw refeeres allow the score at competitions. I am not sure if it has to look like the arm is just touching or the tube will be supported if the arm wasn't there.

Re: autonomus score question

That would depend on how you were in contact with the tube. I would suggest ensuring that your autonomous mode drops the tube at the end of autonomous.

You may also wish to look at the definition of HANGING for exactly how it is determined whether a tube counts--if the Ubertube isn't Hanging, it doesn't score.

Re: autonomus score question

During our first Double at Kettering, the robot still grasp the tube. When Teleop started, they released the claw and left the tube. This was deemed that not only was the tube not hung (no points), but a penalty was assigned for hanging a ubertube in tele-op (penalty). We fixed that for the next match.

Re: autonomus score question

If your still in contact with the tube at the end of autonomous it doesnt count. But if you let go, get caught on a peg or something lift your hand in tele op and say knock that tube off, it still counts. This happened to us and we thought we werent going to get the points because it got knocked off but they gave us the points. So as long as you hang it and stop touching it in autonomous you should be fine.

That would seem like a perfect example, and the same thing happened to us.

<G16> UBERTUBES may not be HUNG. Violation: PENALTY

This means, you can grab it all you want throughout the match, but if you don't let go at the beggining of Tele-op, then you may (and we did) get penalized for hanging the tube after autonomous period. Best suggestion: hang it, let go and back out.

That's the easiest way to interpret the rule, but that's not actually what it says:

The robot can be touching the ubertube, as long as it has released the tube and isn't supporting it.

You still get the AUTONOMOUS SCORE for the ubertube, because it was scored at the end of the autonomous period. I don't see anywhere in the manual that you get the doubler for the PEG SCORE if the tube comes off after that.

Same thing happened to us. At the end of autonomous the ubertube was touching both the peg and our open gripper. Moved the arm down first thing in teleop and received a penalty (3 points) for hanging an ubertube in teleop. Not sure how to avoid that (descoring ourselves?). I'd have to go back and analyze the score to see if we got credit for hanging in autonomous or not and if the multiplier credit was granted. - I suspect it was.

Re: autonomus score question

In a practice game at FLR we were blocked by a regular tube pressed against an ubertube, so we couldn't get to the feeder slot. We just drove at them hard, and the ubertube popped over the lane, bounced once, and landed on the bottom rung of our opponent's rack.

PENALTY for hanging an UBERTUBE in TELEOP.
RED CARD for scoring on our opponent's RACK.

The flagging ref said that if we could do it again, he'd buy us a pizza.
