Re: pic: 5 foot tall drivers
When I co-drove during Lunacy I had to duck to avoid the team number display. One of the cons of being over 6'6" with shoes on.

Re: pic: 5 foot tall drivers
I believe the only limiting factor for a drive-team member is that they must be a "pre-college student." After that, it's up to the team to decide who they want to put on the field from the members of their team.

Re: pic: 5 foot tall drivers
Yep, "pre-college student". That means that I could go find a kindergartener and they could legally drive the robot. I believe there is/was an FRC team of middle schoolers in Texas; at one point, they made eliminations (sorry, don't remember the number).

Re: pic: 5 foot tall drivers
Our school is K-12, and there is some flexibility with grades/ages. He has been involved unofficially with our team for the past few years; it was decided to make him an official member this year.

In fact Kris V. the emcee at Lone Star announced on Saturday afternoon, that a student on FRC 441, was his 7th year as a driver ( three years for 1484, and four years for 441). Last edited by Pjohn1959 : 24-03-2011 at 10:17. |

On another related note about age and what makes a high school student. We just had a student graduate from our team last year, he had just turned 16 at the time, making him 11 and 12 his first year as a member of our team. Just my $0.02. ![]() |

Re: pic: 5 foot tall drivers
Nope, this isn't true. The most driveteam experience we've had is Brandon Pruniak who was a human player in 2006 and driver from 2007-2009.
