Non-Engineering Mentors: MSCE and World Championship Meetings

NEMO (the Non-Engineering Mentors Organization) will be holding a get together at the Michigan State Championship Event on Saturday, April 9, at 9:30AM. We encourage all mentors who handle non-engineering tasks to join us, whether you are a member of NEMO or not.

The meeting will be about an hour long, with the following goals in mind:
1. To stimulate the growth of NEMO by actively holding a meeting and recruiting new members
2. To bring NEMs together for networking
3. To bring NEMS together to encourage sharing of resources
4. To network with teams who do not have any non-engineering mentors

Flyers will be passed around the event, letting you know what room it will be in. Announcements will also be made in the pits and on the field to remind and encourage mentors to attend.

We know that your team is your first priority, and because this meeting is during qualify matches:
we encourage you to show up late or leave early if you need to.

FIRST is growing, and with this growth many challenges are arising. To tackle these challenges, we need to work together. The first step in that is expanding our networks and horizons. So, please spread the word about this meeting. Please encourage any NEMs (and Technical and Engineering Mentors who want to learn more about Non-Engineering resources) to attend.

If you’re planning on being at the Championship Event in St. Louis, another date to keep in mind is Friday, April 29, 10:00-Noon, for our NEMO Annual Meet and Greet. Once again, this is a great opportunity to network with other NEMs, meet some new FIRST friends and discover valuable resources for your team.

Let me know if you’ll be at either event, and tell your friends on other teams about them. The more people, especially new people, the better! The meeting that we had at IRI was a lot of fun, let’s try to top it!
