Hot days and cool nights
Posted by mike aubry, Engineer on team #47, Chiefs, from Pontiac Central.
Posted on 3/31/99 8:33 PM MST Hey just a thought about the great Florida weather and the effect it has on the native northern body. Wouldn't it make sense to give everyone a break during the heat of the day (say 1 to 4) so that they could get out of the sun and relax a bit. If people wanted to go to the park they could - if they wanted to stay under a tree, or in the pits they could. If people wanted to go for a swim they could - and then schedule the matches to go into the evening hours - after the sun goes down when it gets alot cooler! Surely this may be a problem with the scheduling of resources and the Disney entertainers, but I thought it may be worth looking into. The sun tires people out and the heat makes people sweat, and get more irritable than they are normally! Just a thought ! |

I must of spent about 30 dollars of those slush drinks they had because I thought I was going to get dehydrated from having that hot boiling sun on my body all day. I think having a couple hours off would be good, I think it would keep people and fans more enthusiastic if we do it when it is cooler. How do you come up with all these great ideas Mike?? Heat stroke and sun poisoning have been a problem in the past with my old team. What can i say, I care ![]() Good Luck Andy Grady, DWC/Alvirne |

I saw a team at the Mid-Atlantic regional that had green shirts with 3 with stripes on the sleeves, and v-necks.. Make sure you put sunscreen where the v-neck doesn't cover.. If you don't, you'll have a nice little burn thing.. It'll be in the shape of a triangle.. Just telling you from experience.. -KATe- |

Dew, is a bad choice in hot weather. Caffeine is a diuretic, which causes you to lose fluid via urination. Your best bet is good ol' dihydrogen oxide. ![]() - Jerry |
