Are any of you going to be at IRI? Perhaps we could further discuss the logistics of this down there during lunch or something?
Bryan,

I am glad that we are on the same page with this. I will be at IRI with Team #1126 (SparX). Hopefully we will cross paths! I look forward to working with you!

Matt

Hold on - I said with 2000 robots the video was 33 minutes long. You may need to include FLL and FTC robots to fill out the time.

Re: FRC Slideshow: Every Robot

Bryan beat me to it -- a 33 minute slideshow is the perfect backdrop to one of Dean's speeches on Einstein.

We could possibly even take the 2,000 photos and make a gigantic photo mosaic

Or the slideshow could be part of the filler at events, in addition to or intertwined with the sponsor loop that gets really really old for people who sit in the stands.

I like it; I think it will take 1 person per Regional to get photos of the bots at the events.

Only one person per event? Personally, I think it'd be easier to have maybe 2 people per event, since about 60 robots per event is a lot to handle for one person, since most likely their team will need them a lot.

If you need photos of 256, we have them! I like this idea, and would like to contribute to it somehow.

Re: FRC Slideshow: Every Robot

I would agree that you should probably have 1 person "in charge" per event. If they want a couple helpers, that is up to them, but you should have 1 Point of Contact sending in all 60 pictures.

The Blue Alliance had tried something similar in the past. I believe they even had some scripts set up so that if you put a certain subject in the Email, and named the files with a common (FRC_TEAMNUMBER.jpg), then it would auto-populate when they ran the script.

I have pics for every team from Kettering.

Re: FRC Slideshow: Every Robot

its really not that difficult for one person to get pics of all the robots at an event. we had a student go around for the past couple of years taking pics of all the robots for scouting purposes and she had no problem with it. i liked IKE's idea above of having one person in charge, but if they want helpers thats their choice, and they can plan that out. im now an alumni of my team but im going to remain in contact with them over the next few years, so im sure i can get one of them to get pics of all the robots at the NJ regional (we go every year), as well as another regional should the team decide to go to two next year

this is a great idea, i really hope everything works out

Re: FRC Slideshow: Every Robot

Another way to get pictures would be to talk to the guy who took pictures at the championships of all the robots and ask him for photos we will get a bunch from him probably I forgot the thread on CD.

Re: FRC Slideshow: Every Robot

Doesn't FiM request a picture of each robot in case you win an award so that they can put it on the slide show. First can do this much easier if they just ask for all teams to submit a picture or cad before teams bag or ship.

Re: FRC Slideshow: Every Robot

This sounds like a great idea... I think that there should be some kind of sheet for people to put down what regional they have or are going to do if this is happening next year. I personaly have almost all of OR and WA.
