Re: pic: 6 Wheel drive practice
Interest. Why are the cims placed differently?

Re: pic: 6 Wheel drive practice
Is the battery cable long enough to reach the PD board?

Re: pic: 6 Wheel drive practice
(A) I actually don't see a PDB on that CAD.
(B) You can cut longer wires from the PDB to your battery, so this really isn't that big of an issue. - Sunny G. |

Unrelatedly, I'm curious what you modified on the super shifters. Except for removing the housing, they look pretty close to stock configuration to me. --Ryan |

Re: pic: 6 Wheel drive practice
About the whole PDB thing; I just tossed a basic electronics board in to show where things might go. I don't know where the electronics would go on the actual robot because this was designed without a specific game in mind.

Re: pic: 6 Wheel drive practice
It's to line up shafts if I'm guessing right. The placement is a 90-degree rotation to adjust for something not being quite right--I forget just what.
As far as the battery cable, you can have your own longer one (provided the gauge is right). However, that size of cable gets pretty heavy--I'd personally move the PDB closer to the battery and use lighter cable for longer runs. ttldomination, I'm pretty sure that's the PDB behind the cRIO. |

Digital Sidecar.
Im also guessing brian just slapped on the electronics for picture aesthetics-- no real reason for specific locations. |

Re: pic: 6 Wheel drive practice
How is the chain tension adjusted?

It is b/c these gearboxes don't come oriented differently for right and left side modules. You have to have a 90* rotation or I believe assemble it essentially backwards, but I have never played with them myself so the only one I'm sure of is turning one 90*. Re: pic: 6 Wheel drive practice
You might want to try adding sprockets between each set of wheels to tension the chains, other than that, very nicely CADed. Congrats.
