This year the RoboBees 836 team will be developing a merit badge like training curriculum for this year for each of the sub teams (i.e. mecahincal, electrical, etc.). I am just now working on the apprentice training for the mechanical team. Is there anyone who would like to share their training materials and/or leasons learned?
Our merit levels are: Level 1 Rookie Level 2 Apprentice Level 3 Journeyman Level 4 Master Rookie will be generic entry level for everyone and includes: - First Robotics Knowledge - Saftey Training - Robobees Team Knowledge |

Re: Merit Training Curriculum
Hmmm, this is a concept I haven't heard of before. My team has always taught all of our rookies some stuff, and the rookies in specific subgroups other stuff - we've never had specific levels.
If you're looking for great training information, I recommend googling it. My team, for example, has a library of presentations here. So far, it only has one item, drive trains, but we hope to expand that significantly. That particular presentation includes information about both drivetrains and physics in general, as well as mechanical components such as sprockets. I would say that it would qualify as either level 3 or level 2 information. |
