[FTC]: Rule Question

Hi guys,

I just have a quick question. When we possess/score in a crate, do the balls in the crate count towards the ball limit of the robot?

Ex: My robot has 6 balls. The crate has 10 balls. Does the robot posses 6 balls and is safe, or does it possess 16 balls and is penalized?

Re: [FTC]: Rule Question

Balls inside the crate do not count as "possessed" by the robot. There has been confusion down here when teams score over 15 balls in a crate, but turns out its not the case.

Hope this helps,

- Andrew

Re: [FTC]: Rule Question

It has to be that balls in a crate supported by a robot do not count toward the 15 max in possession. Else every robot that had the capability of lifting a crate could not pass inspection, because the crate could hold more than 15 balls.

Re: [FTC]: Rule Question

Seriously guys...

You need to start reading the rules in detail.. and THEN, give the complete Q&A and full read through.

That particular question was asked several times and answered emphatically.

At this stage of the game, you need to know that your robot is LEGAL....

I suggest having everyone in the team read the weekly Q&A summary doc. It's posted in several formats (for e-readers etc).

Other than answering tricky questions, the are lots of good ideas that other people have come up with that are deemed "legal".

Start with this list... http://www.usfirst.org/sites/default..._Questions.pdf
