Drive Station will not boot

When I try to start the classmate drive station it gives a message:

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable.

This occurs whether or not I mount the USB Key.

Should I be doing something different or is there a problem.

Thank you

Re: Drive Station will not boot

Your Classmate needs to be imaged before it will boot on it's own. Are you following the directions in the "Getting Started with the 2012 Control System" document on the Kit of Parts Technical Resources page?

Re: Drive Station will not boot

On a brand new Classmate there is no operating system and you must boot from the E11 USB thumb drive that came in the kit.
  • Make sure the USB image stick is well and securely seated.
  • Press F11 repeatedly while the Classmate is starting up, don't wait for the logo screen. It can go by really fast and you can't push F11 too many times.
  • If you do it right you'll get a choice allowing you to pick the USB stick to boot from.

Re: Drive Station will not boot

I have done that. It says the media is defective.

Thank you
