Classmate to CRIO problems and questions

Hey all,

I am trying to upload my java application to CRIO but I think I am
having connectivity issues. I am following the 2012 guide. I connected
the CRIO and Classmate via ethernet but somehow the driver account
is unable to view the CRIO (Yes, I have configured the Ip4 to 10.xx.yy.6 and subnet to 255.255.255.0. I have even tried to various combinations of 10.xx.yy.2 and 255.0.0.0 etc... The driver's account is also setup with our team number) We are just unable to see the green communication light on the driver's account. When ever I plug in the ethernet to the Classmate, the local area connection says unidentified. Can someone please elaborate more on this process - A more in depth guide would be much appreciated!

We are more than excited to participate for the first time this year!

Thanks in advance!

edit: When I run the main project I am always getting the FTP 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.0 <--- robot's subnet
... along with Java.net.SocketException:

Re: Classmate to CRIO problems and questions

Have you used the imaging tool to set the IP of the cRIO? You also need to go into the preferences on netbeans then, miscellaneous, and then FRC Configuration, and change the team number to your team number.

Okay. Thank you for your input I will do so. However, What do I need to set my IPs as? I am not trying to do imaging just yet.

Re: Classmate to CRIO problems and questions

You will not be able to connect with netbeans or the driver station before you image the cRIO. Your computer's IP should be 10.xx.yy.6 or 10.xx.yy.5 (xx being the first two digits of your team number and yy being the last two). If you enter your team number in the driver station application it should automatically configure your IP address on your computer.
