I'm trying to image my teams cRIO II (4-slot version) for the first time and I keep getting this error everytime:
"Unable to assign an IP address for the CompactRIO device. Ensure the IP Reset switch on the CompactRIO device is turned off." I've allowed all the NI programs public & private access on the "network" which is directly connected to the robot. The 2014 imaging tool finds the robot, starts working, and then gets that error. Please help me with fixing this and tell me if I'm doing anything wrong or can go somewhere to get a fix, any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Re: IP Error for cRIO II Imaging
Try holding down the reset button on the cRIO for ~ 10 seconds.
I believe the status light will go solid when you've held the reset button long enough. Then run the cRIO Imaging Tool. You should get a message about being in Safe Mode. When given the choice, choose to reimage. Last edited by Mark McLeod : 18-01-2014 at 20:16. |

Re: IP Error for cRIO II Imaging
My team has spent several hours over the last week trying to image the cRIO. We found that the most reliable way is to reset the cRIO with the method above, and then image it from driver station. For some reason only the driver station would work without fail.

Re: IP Error for cRIO II Imaging
There are several threads on imaging tips.
1. Disable all other network adapters except the wired adapter doing the imaging (wireless, etc) 2. turn off windows firewall 3. Use a swap cable directly from the pc to the crio or go through the router on the robot with only the two things plugged in 4. Always image with a cable, not over wireless 5. Double check the ip address typed in is correct. 6. Ensure correct image is shown. |
