New England Tag Sale for Ritchie Family Fund
Hello New England teams,
I would like to organize a giant tag sale to benefit the Ritchie Family Fund. I think a city like Worcester or Boston may be the best bet due to its central location. Do you think that FIRSTaholics from the New England area may be willing to pile their cars up with tag sale items for a big sale? Hmmm... maybe do it Battlecry weekend in Worcester? These are just thoughts, please post yours. This would be a nice opportunity for NE teams to work together to benefit this kind cause. Thanks, erin |

Re: New England Tag Sale for Ritchie Family Fund
Oh yea, "tag sale" is the term I find most often used in CT. Also used is "garage sale, yard sale, barn sale, etc..." Basically, people gather a bunch of old stuff from their house that they don't want, put it out in a driveway or parking lot, and sell it to strangers! One person's junk is another person's treasure and if people are willing to donate their junk this could be an easy way to raise a lot of money for the Ritchie Family.

Erin, that sounds like an awesome idea.. MA would probably be the most central location in NE.

Re: New England Tag Sale for Ritchie Family Fund
Wow, Erin. I'm speechless. You are doing a very noble thing for a family that have given so much to many young people.
---Erin, I don't want to hijack this thread but I wanted to make this announcement--- This year at IRI, we are going to be holding a silent auction to raise some money for the family. We're working on the details of the auction and hope to have an announcement soon regarding it. So if you have something that you believe is worthy of auctioning, please hold onto it and we will provide details of what you can do later. |

Re: New England Tag Sale for Ritchie Family Fund
I a silent auction, items that are offered for sale are placed on display, with a sheet of paper next to them.
People place bids by signing their name and then their bid. The next person can bid higher by putting their name on the paper, and their bid. It continues on untill the bid closing time, then items are sold to whoever had the highest (last) bid on the paper. |

No, this thread may not be hijacked So who in New England would be willing to donate some stuff for this tag/garage/yard/barn sale and when/where would be a good time to do it? I'm thinking Worcester. |

. I hope it works and good luck. Maybe Battlecry can add $1.00 to the price of their t-shirts and give that money to the cause. |

Re: New England Tag Sale for Ritchie Family Fund
Before yo do anything at BC6, make sure you run it by Ken first. How about just passing the hat at BC6 or BTB this Saturday?
