getting the databse ready for the nationals
Hi guys,
I was thinking of trying to make a database for the nationals ready before hand so I won't have to sprint around the dome during the entire first day is there any ways to know who will be in our devision? is there a list anywhere? if not when will there be? or will it only come out on the 27th? I was thinking each team which goes to nationals should post their stats from the regional (if available) and\or their unique robots stats so we can all start hammering away strategies with diffrent teams I know I know, there's like 80 teams in each devision and the amount of combinations you can spin off that is incredible, but it would be nice to come to GA with a folder packed full with all your stats, I'll post our stat tomorrow since I need to know how good the robot will be once this fix-it window closes |

Re: getting the databse ready for the nationals
Though it's not always accurate, you can get some data from the FIRST website, as well as other scouts.
Scouting 80 teams can be hard but here are a couple starting points: 1. Make a note of teams who were Regional champions, Finalists, Technical award winners, or getting a lot of discussion without necessarily going all the way to the top. Scan the "top picks of the year" thread and make a note of the teams there and take notes on why they are there. 2. You can probably also find pictures of robots. It will give you a sure idea of at least their structure, if they're boxy or no, etc. Pictures are nice, and make robots more memorable to scouters. 3. Division listings usually come out earlier than the 27th. Watch out for them. |

Re: getting the databse ready for the nationals
They are published on the FIRST website
Go to the FRC tab on the top, and then to the Championship tab on the sidebar. Under I believe team list you can see the divisions. |

Re: getting the databse ready for the nationals
Your next question is going to be when will the divisions be posted.... They are usually posted a week or so after the last regionals (this weekend). Expect them up within a week or so.

Re: getting the databse ready for the nationals
=) thanks, one last thing
when you say devisions do you also mean the matches for the championship? if not, will those be published on the training day? the 1st match day? or before? I mean the paper which says which alliances are at what times against who etc. etc. |

Re: getting the databse ready for the nationals
The match lists will be given out like in the regionals. The practice match list will be handed out on the thursday of championships, and the seeding/qualifying match list will be handed out on the friday of the tournament.
