6 months huh? That's about the last time I posted heavily on this site (April).

I will never forget Dean's opening lines: "I want you to know that I am here under protest. I believe that everything you are doing here is repugnant and ethically wrong. And now I am going to tell you why..." And for the next 35 minutes, that is exactly what he did. |

[You know you're proud to be a FIRSTer when...] You explain to someone how do do something, they go off and do it, come back and ask, "is this right?" and you say,
"Yes."

As far as the GDC being that mean, at least three of them have the pure evil genius rating, and the rest are simply pure evil. |

Welcome to adulthood.
Remember, patience is your friend. Denial is your shield. Bitter disinterest your salve. Your endless hours of crushing workload will be your strength.

So, FIRST is turning into the For the Inspiration of Science and Trains? That makes sense... Not a whole lot of re-branding will be needed.... |

What do you do after making a design public? Improve it! What do you do when you give your opponents a weapon? Come up with a better one or a way to beat it! What is Wildstang going to do, you ask? Make their drivetrains better! |

There's a stark difference between bragging and taking pride in your work. While "Ha ha! We're better than you! We won seventeen regionals and you didn't!" would clearly fall in the former, listing your achievements would definitely fall in the latter. |

If people are getting offended at seeing other teams list their accomplishments, maybe they should spend less time whining and more time doing things to make their own team win. |

There's "FIRST the organization" and then there's "FIRST the vision for the future through a set of ideals". I've grown somewhat skeptical of the former in recent years, but, after 10 years, I'd still throw myself in front of a bus for the latter. |

Show the students how to do what they need to do, Step back and let the students do what they need to do, Nudge them back on course when they need a nudge, Insist, when necessary, that no one tries to juggle the chainsaws |
