I don't miss the manufactured magic of Disney because Championships creates magic in itself; wherever the event may be held. |

Injuries can come out of no where. I know this is only a robotics competition but the injury doesnt care where or what you are doing. |

It's one thing to post thoughts, guesses, opinions - that's all good ... However, it's [different] to make statements claiming first hand knowledge & facts without actually having first hand knowledge, facts, or accurate information. |

The mission is to mobilize community, school and corporate resources to support the vision. The method is to provide an interesting, exciting program that gives young people opportunities to explore and expand their capabilities and interests. |

When you start thinking of FIRST as a robotic building contest you have left the pavement and you are in deep weeds. |

I've never liked the pressure pads. This just confirms my suspicions: Pressure pads hate robots. It must be some inferiority complex or something. |

In my book the team building experience of the kids training the engineers in the operations on the field would be invaluable. It might not get a trophy but you win far more in the long run.

The highest seeded alliance is always placed in the red zone by the computer. In fact, its a great communist conspiracy to mold the mind of teenagers into equating Reds with winners. |

If an alternate is used, all four teams are equal members of the alliance. (Trophies, trips, bling, book tours, custody of the children etc.) |

FIRST is again mirroring real life. And in real life, when we build and design robotic and automated systems, it's safety first. Hitting a human in real life loses a lot more than 30 points.

If something on your robot isn't working, then why don't you take the responsibility to fix it? Isn't that what being a TEAM is all about? |

Successful teams - in almost any aspect of life (i.e. not just robotics) - don't make excuses and assign blame when something goes wrong. They improvise. They adapt. They overcome. They correct the problem and move on. |
