If Will uses the word "dope", doesn't wear a larger FIRST logo, takes up half of the St. Louis arena, if there was not enough seating in the pits, if the music was killed during finals, it was all justified tonight. |

At first blush, people don't need to know about GP any more than they need to know gear ratios, screw classifications, or LabVIEW. It's about Inspiration. It's about Recognition. It's about Science and Technology. That's all it's For; any more than that is just gravy. |

People don't have to "get" it. They just have to know about it. Once they know about it, then they come to it, experience it, talk to it, learn it, then get it. |

FIRST is the best thing I could have ever done. It shows me where I think my limits are, and it destroys them right in front of my eyes. My experiences with FIRST have defined who I am, and I am beyond blessed to have had them. |

Do not worry about the VEX camp versus FIRST camp issues. It is a huge marketplace. It is only about 4% penetrated. There is room for everyone. And competition is good for the consumer. |

Mentors need to be sure that the team is on track to have a working robot ready. Students can do almost everything, but they need help watching the calender. Even if your ideas turn out bad, if your robot is inspectable and running when you arrive at your first event, anything can happen. |
