256:1 gear reductions provide surprisingly little torque once the gears have failed. |

There are times when all of us - myself included - need a virtual *poink* to the back of the head and someone to say "wake up and stop behaving like a three-year-old." |

Instead of prototyping with plywood and machining metal for the final version, they make their prototypes out of sheet metal and machine the final robot out of wood. :) |

Whatever you do, make it idiot-proof. Not because your drivers are idiots, but because the fewer precision maneuvers they have to do, the more awesome driving (and scoring!) they have time to do. |

i just want to say how awesome the high volume tank is. The high volume tank is 7/4 as awesome as the previous tanks. |

At this rate, Team Update #2 should just eliminate the Minibots and replace it with the drive team captains playing rock-paper-scissors to determine the bonus points. |

We're thinking of using static electricity to pick up the tubes. The programmers are trying to figure out how to make the robot shuffle it's feet on the carpet. |

Honestly, just when I thought FIRST had finally created an FRC game without any near universally-hated rules, they went ahead and made one in TM 1. |

I also like how the FTC folks are able to get involved with the FRC process this year, but it's always a bit of a let down when you're told you can't launch things into the air. |
