"The only constant is change" is a hint that probably applies to every season of FIRST. |

A pole is usually made of aluminum or steel pipe. You can get these wherever you get metal. :)
As for polls, there's a check box in the "Additional Options" section of the New Thread page that you can click to create said poll. |

If FIRST makes a field invisible to the audience, I will buy every team a dozen Krispy Kremes. |

The whole idea of a robot competition is geared around spectators. Take that away and you have a science fair. |

The teams that know how to build good robots are the same teams that know how to build good teams, and they engage the students every step of the way. |

Do I think the bar is too high? I think impossible dreams and lofty goals are a key part of FIRST; the "top" being extremely far away only pushes people farther. |

I for one think this kind of robot "love" is absolutely inappropriate for children and both teams should have been condemned for such graphic displays. |

Innovating for the sake of innovating, reinventing the wheel is probably the second biggest pitfall you can fall into when designing an FRC robot, if the wheel is already a very optimized, good solution. |

It's your duty in FRC to your teammates and alliance partners to put the most competitive robot possible on the field. |

Instead of prototyping with plywood and machining metal for the final version, they make their prototypes out of sheet metal and machine the final robot out of wood. :) |

Step 1: Get a blue banner.
Step 2: Wave it everywhere until your School Board acknowledges your existence.
We haven't gotten to Step 1 yet, unfortunately. |

Backstabbing your opponents at the last second will not help you win friends and word will get around pretty quick. Your team will be shunned and distrusted for years. People have long memories, and some of us mentors have been playing this game since you kids were playing with blocks. |

The game objectives are still the same, get boxes into your scoring zone, stack approximately half of them, run for the top of the ramp.
So lets sit down, shut up, and start building robots. |
