What else could you do with a t-shirt? Wait... never mind... I retract my previous statement and realized this is FIRST and we can do anything with anything. ;) |

I used to think FIRST was about my learning experiences, but now that I'm out of high school and am a seasoned veteran of FIRST I've realized that this organization is about more than my own enjoyment, it's about the enjoyment of others. |

Active control of game pieces throughout all stages of your robot's interactions with it is critical. Never let gravity/inertia control the game piece. If you want a game piece to go somewhere, you MAKE it go there. |

We also had a couple of student leaders emerge from this offseason Rumble, which can do nothing but help the team in the upcoming FRC season. |

In real life, I use almost nothing I learned from football except that with a bit of hard work you can get somewhere. Oh, and I have bad knees on top of that. I could have (and wished I would have) learned that from a FIRST FRC team instead. |

It's a good things we're engineers who regularly squeeze out 'miracles' with a severely limited budget, eh? I think that's an important aspect that we as mentors need to show the students from time to time, and this year is a perfect opportunity. |

FRC isn't for every school; it takes a lot of drive just to fundraise every year. It is a premium program that requires a premium about of effort to sustain and be successful. And man is it fun to do. |

In 2001 instead of staring at the field at the game I turned around and watched the people watch the field. All I could see was a mass of people from all corners of the world, eyes lit up, gears turning in their heads. That, to me, is FIRST in action. |
