While we all look back and appreciate the shoulders of the giants of the past upon which we are standing, let us not forget that we are the giants of today. Ours are the shoulders on which others will be standing in the future. |

The real reason I am coming to IRI is to get that Paul Copioli, he will be bearhugged, if its the last thing I do :p |

In my opinion, I wouldnt want gifts or praise from people about my help to a robotics team, all I would want is a thank you, that would make all my hard work and efforts worth while and it would prove to me that I could actually be making a difference in the students lives |

by the way when someone calles me a dork or geek, i tell them to look up dork and geek in the dictionary, and that i would rather be called nerd :) |

Of course even though its less than a week until kickoff, dave can still change the rules to make bearhugging me in automode a bonus |

I don't think Brandon is actually doing this, I think he has CD-47 Bot and Archiver locked in a closet doing all this while he has fun |

I think that everyone should just take a step back and look at the whole picture, FIRST is a family, not an organization full of regions, we all try to help each other, not 'cause it benefits us, but because it's graciously proffesional. |

FIRST like life is what you make of it, if you would rather go through FIRST worrying about what other teams do to make their robots, then your destined for disappointment. if you go through FIRST making the most of it doing the best you and your team can then it doesn't matter what other teams do. |

As everyone knows, our students don't actually design or build the robot, so to make it look like they were working on it for the video, we hid cookies inside the unfinished frame and turned them loose. It looks believable. |

We are customers to FIRST. In that comes expectations. I don't want to hear another, "You should be grateful for everything FIRST does" nonsense when FIRST royally screws up. |

It doesn't make a team better if they have just one sponsor or if they have 100 sponsors. However, you should commend a team who struggled to pay the bill with a list of sponsors one hundred long for showing their strength, perseverance and love for participating in the FIRST robotics program. |

Is FIRST making it too easy?... yes they are making it easier than years past. But I would also say that does that matter? If students are still inspired to pursue more advanced designs and eventually a career in the technology sector we still have met our ultimate goal. |

I frequently summarize the core mission of FIRST as inspiring the smartest high school kids to study science and engineering, so they don't become lawyers. (It's about 70% in jest) |

FIRST robots definitely meet many commonly agreed upon definitions of robots. Some will disagree. Good for them. In my opinion, it's not worth arguing over. |
