With any dollar amount to invest I would be more interested in the number of individuals (students is too narrow) impacted than the number of teams created--after all, this is about people. |

What if, each alliance has a pile of AndyMark equipment in front of them. They then have 2:00 minutes to assemble said equipment, and build a working robot that will race to the other side and grab the other alliance's flag. |

Just a modest request for folks NOT to put 3000-pixel-wide pictures inline in the forum. A link to the big picture works just as well while keeping the text readable. Thanks. |

Everyone who has posted on this thread has brought about a lot of different ideas to the plate. Before it was just a simple 1 course meal in my mind. But when you post something on CD with tons of engineers and engineers in the making, your bound to have a feast!! |

Students can learn to drive on whatever they give us. Ramps, carpet, grating, HDPE, lexan, diamond plate, regolith, other robots the driver station wall, referees, stairs, Dean, the bar, goals, the scorer's table, you name it, I've watched robots somehow manage to drive on it |

So yeah, everyone please remember that lathes are one of the most dangerous machine tools you'll encounter. And keep your hand on the chuck key whenever it's in the chuck. If you never let it go till it's out of the chuck, it's stupendously less likely to take flight. |
