Good thing you skipped this year.

Who wouldn't love to see a circular FRC field, on the backs of four elephants, all riding on a gigantic turtle? |

Oh... and congratulations FIRST, for launching the biggest shinny object of distraction just days before FRC kick-off. ;) |

You know you've been in FIRST way too long when you can remember all those hints... even down to exact wording... and only have to look up the most recent. |

They could release an update saying they were going to give every team free puppies and kittens, and many teams would vehemently complain this change was too late to budget dry kibbles into their budget. |

If you are content with where you are, you have celebrated the right things. If not, perhaps it is time to reconsider... what’s most important to you. |

The stated goals of FIRST are to inspire a culture that values science and technology. Inspiration needs Motivation. What motivates people? Competition. |

The size, speed, and power of full sized FRC robots are much more sublime. People go to the zoo to see the lions and tigers, not the ants. |

If said device costs 10x more to manufacture than a simpler solution integrating COTS parts, and only performs 10% better, that's poor engineering. |

With computers, every once in a while you see something that makes you think "I could have done this, why didn't I think of it? It would have made my life so much easier." Now is one of those times. |

We do a disservice as mentors if we simply complain. We must inspire our students by showing them how we rise to the challenge and solve the problems we face. |
