I just like that PVC is the most basic need of humankind according to that diagram. Whatever would we do without it?! |

I think FIRST is a big trap. They lure you in with these cool competitions and shiny robots and along the way they trick you into learning something :) |

You all have ample time to get your sleep in from the final day of nationals to the friday before kickoff. There should be no reason why anyone will need sleep for the next 6 weeks and then some. You all have had enough of sleep or hibernation, now its time to wake up and do some work =). |

And then, at the end of the match, the drive teams who are being lifted all say at once (in a GOVERNATOR voice)- "GET TO ZE CHOPPER!!!" |

I am a geek because of FIRST! Seriously, I was reeaalllllyyy boring before robotics. Not mechanically inclined at all. Now I love it! |

We will be stressed, we will be angry. But we need to hold ourselves to a higher standard, we need to be role models and inspirations to students. |

The whole idea of a robot competition is geared around spectators. Take that away and you have a science fair. |

FIRST isn't a competition. It's a learning experience. Share the knowledge, and you'll learn more because there's bound to be someone who sees something about your project that even your own team didn't realize it can do. |

Engineering rules of thumb don't form the garbage that goes into the making of the robot. They take the garbage of the real world and turn it into more pure, if slightly diluted, data. |

This isn't an engineering fair and demonstration, it's FRC. Defense is part of the game. You can't expect a good FRC team to just sit there and get clobbered by a full-court shooter; they're going to engineer a solution to the problem. |

Part of Gracious Professionalism is the Professional bit. Doesn't matter if you're a volunteer or a staff member, a failure of this level in the real world would result in getting fired. |
