Due to popular request, I've added a second operational mode. Several people have said that counting down based on time alone is unreliable. What was added is an experimental round-based timer. You input the round number of your next round, as well as the current round. In the .cfg file, you also set the approximate time in between round starts. The timer then uses this information as the interval between rounds. The count-down is based on how many rounds are estimated to be before your round.
For example, if your next match is round 5 and the current round is round 1, you input round 1 in the appropriate box. The program looks in the .cfg file, reads the time that you set as approximately the time difference between, and uses that information to estimate how long it is before your round.

For those of you that attended the NYC Regional, if you would have walked on over to Team 810's pit area, you would have seen that on a laptop we were running a nice-looking timer that counts down to our next match, making it easy for anyone - team members, scouts, judges - to be able to tell at a glance when our next match is and approximately how much time is left.
Well, the response that I got from making this flash program was extremely positive, so I decided to spice it up a bit and make it available to anyone who wants it.
Basically this program is a Macromedia Flash file that runs full screen and in a neat format, displays the current time, the time of your teams next match, and a count-down to it. When the time left gets to a certain (adjustable) point, the program starts to blink the time left and a warning message to get your attention and cause you to finish your repairs and get on the queue line.
At the NYC Regional, we ran it on a laptop that we placed on our pit table and voila! Everyone on the team always knew exactly how much time was left until we were back on the field charging into robots and goals. Try it out at your next competition, and good luck!
